Monitoring and certification

Notified body according to the Construction Products Regulation

The Research Centre for Steel, Timber and Masonry operates a fully cost-covering, fee-financed notified testing and certification body (notified body: 0769) for technical rules harmonized in Europe in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 (Construction Products Regulation).

The Research Centre for Steel, Timber and Masonry is recognized and active as a national and European testing, monitoring and certification body in the field of construction supervision (ID: BWU02).

In the national area, the testing institute is recognized under building law:

  • Testing body for the issue of general building law test certificates
  • Testing body for the testing of construction products prior to confirmation of conformity
  • Certification body
  • Surveillance body for external surveillance
  • Monitoring body for monitoring in accordance with § 17 Para. 6 of the LBO Baden-Württemberg
  • Inspection body for the inspection of construction products, types of construction and manufacturers in accordance with § 17 Para. 5 of the LBO Baden-Württemberg


The Research Centre for Steel, Timber and Masonry operates a fully fee-financed notified testing and certification body (notified body: 0769) for technical rules harmonized in Europe in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 (Construction Products Regulation). The testing laboratory has demonstrated its competence to carry out the activities of a notified body in accordance with the Construction Products Regulation through accreditation of the testing laboratory in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and the certification body in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065 and has been notified in accordance with this regulation.
